Who Did It?

My newest film, "Who Did It?" is a mystery thriller and is based on two kids, James and Aaron who were supposed to run in there history project but neither did. Someone turned in there work according to Mr. Cricket and he believes that the boys are trying to pull a fast one by plagiarizing. But the truth is one of their classmates, Samantha actually used another students History project and turned it in under the boys names. This is a great film to end off before break. I used the denoiser effect on premiere for the first time and used some new match cutting techniques. I also used the exposure at 0.5 for each clip. The film took me a couple of weeks to write the script and do the storyboard. It only took a whole fusion period to film because all we needed was only 90 minutes. I came up with the idea of this film because I always wanted to do this type of film. Normally my other films don't really have any talking in them. Im also usually in all my films but this one. I decided to stay as the directer for this film and stay behind the camera at all times. I feel like I can improve on my next film and any film i create that if I try something new such as new effects on premiere, new type of shots, new equipment, etc. I do not have the storyboard anymore so I can show it but I do have the original script. The original story was a little different to this one as Mr. Cricket was the one who framed the boys and not Samantha. Also the original story had the work as some sort of drug dealing company from the dark web but Mr. D and I both decided that the plagiarism was a much better idea especially since the film is based around school.

World History Project

The American Revolutionary War (1775–1783), also known as the American War of Independence,[43] was a war between Great Britain and its Thirteen Colonies in North America which declared independence in July 1776 as the United States of America.[N 1]
After 1765, growing constitutional and political differences strained the relationship between Great Britain and its American colonies. Patriot protests against taxation without representation followed the Stamp Act and escalated into boycotts, which culminated in 1773 with the Sons of Liberty destroying a shipment of tea in Boston Harbor. Britain responded by closing Boston Harbor and passing a series of punitive measures against Massachusetts Bay Colony. Massachusetts colonists responded with the Suffolk Resolves, and they established a shadow government which wrested control of the countryside from the Crown. Twelve colonies formed a Continental Congress (with the exception of Georgia) to coordinate their resistance, establishing committees and conventions that effectively seized power.[44]
British attempts to disarm the Massachusetts militia in Concord led to open combat and a British defeat on April 19, 1775. Militia forces then besieged Boston, forcing a British evacuation in March 1776, and Congress appointed George Washington to command the Continental Army. Concurrently, the Americans failed decisively in an attempt to invade Quebec and raise insurrection against the British. On July 2, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted for independence, issuing its declaration on July 4. Sir William Howe launched a British counter-offensive, capturing New York City and leaving American morale at a low ebb. However, victories at Trenton and Princeton restored American confidence. In 1777, the British launched an invasion from Quebec under John Burgoyne, intending to isolate the New England Colonies. Instead of assisting this effort, Howe took his army on a separate campaign against Philadelphia, and Burgoyne was decisively defeated at Saratoga in October 1777.Burgoyne's defeat had dramatic consequences. France formally allied with the Americans and entered the war in 1778, and Spain joined the war the following year as an ally of France but not as an ally of the United States. In 1780, the Kingdom of Mysore attacked the British in India, and tensions between Great Britain and the Netherlands erupted into open war. In North America, the British mounted a "Southern strategy" led by Charles Cornwallis which hinged upon a Loyalist uprising, but too few came forward. Cornwallis suffered reversals at King's Mountain and Cowpens. He retreated to Yorktown, Virginia, intending an evacuation, but a decisive French naval victory deprived him of an escape. A Franco-American army led by the Comte de Rochambeau and Washington then besieged Cornwallis' army and, with no sign of relief, he surrendered in October 1781.
Whigs in Britain had long opposed the pro-war Tories in Parliament, and the surrender gave them the upper hand. In early 1782, Parliament voted to end all offensive operations in America, but the war continued overseas. Britain remained under siege in Gibraltar but scored a major victory over the French navy. On September 3, 1783, the belligerent parties signed the Treaty of Paris in which Great Britain agreed to recognize the sovereignty of the United States and formally end the war. French involvement had proven decisive,[45] but France made few gains and incurred crippling debts. Spain made some territorial gains but failed in its primary aim of recovering Gibraltar.[46] The Dutch were defeated on all counts and were compelled to cede territory to Great Britain. In India, the war against Mysore and its allies concluded in 1784 without any territorial changes.

                                  Sixth Sense Film Review

The Sixth Sense movie was a very good plot twisting horror movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan. This film was very interesting and kept you to the end of your seat during the whole movie. It was about a young kid named Cole who could see ghosts and could communicate with them. He did what they asked him to do. Dr. Malcom is a child psychologist who tried to help Cole. But he was a ghost the whole time. Bruce got shot by one of his patience around a year before trying helping Cole.
The main theme was Cole getting over his fear of ghosts. They were not going to harm him but Cole helped there message get out that they wanted. The film was really successful at getting the message out because M. Night Shyamalan made it seem something else then what we thought. This is because we had no clue that Dr. Malcom was a ghost during the whole time he was helping Cole. I thought Dr. Malcom got shot originally and lived but I was wrong so the directer did a great job. The film shot after Dr. Malcolm got shot, M. Night Shyamalan made it seemed like he survived the accident. When Cole and Dr. Malcom were at at house after the girl passed away due to her mother killing her, The shot of the face reaction of the dad was filmed pretty good. It showed his emotion and how devastated he felt. The last scene when Dr. Malcom found out that he was a ghost this whole time was a great plot twist. With the music and his acting, M. Night Shyamalan did a fantastic job.
This movie did meet my expectations because how great the shots and scenes were filmed. I definitely would suggest this movie to anyone. I would suggest this because of how good the story is and how you are always on the edge of your seat. The theme of this film is to not be afraid of ghosts and face your fears.

The Magical Jacket

This is my second film of the new school year! It was directed and created by me. Special thanks to Alex for shooting some of the first shots as I was a character in this film also. The film is called The Magical Jacket and is about a lost jacket that Alex found after I put it in the lost in found. Then he stole it and tried it on. After that, now he has super powers such as telekinesis. I created the meaning during the zolly shot by making it looked like something big has happened. My pedestal shot was meaningful through the movements because it showed him putting on the jacket but is surprising that he is doing that since its not his jacket. I used a tilt shot in the beginning of the film when I found the lost jacket. That shot showed that I had just found it. These movements were very effective to the type of mystery film that I produced. The movement that was challenging was the zolly shot because I have never used this movement before and wanted to try something new. I want to improve my filming by trying new advanced things such as the jib and slider. I also used a DSLR to film instead of a cam recorder. I will use these movements next time and improve them by practicing the shots as practice runs before I start officially shooting. I can improve these shots as a meaning way by depending on the situation such as a shocking film, I would use a zolly or pedestal.

Camera Movements

These are some camera movements that I like. I am going to use 3 movements out of these 5, and make a short film. A tilt is when the camera is at one place and moves up or down. A pan is when you move the camera horizontally from a fixed position. A jib is when a big boom device with as camera on one end and a counterweight, camera controls on the other. A dolly is when you move the camera back and keep zooming in. A pedestal is when the camera is moving vertically to the subject.

In my first film of the 2019-2020 year, Gabby and I created different types of shots film. The story was about me going to the school cafeteria and eating a snack which was cinnamon toast crunch. Gabby is suppose to be stalking me in this film. At the end, Gabby and I stare at each other as the moment is very awkward. We used all 8 types of shots which are extreme long shot, medium long, medium closeup, cut in, medium, close up, detail, extreme close up, and long shot. Gabby filmed most of the shots as I acted but we set the tripod up when the shots was with her and I in them together. This film was a nice refresher coming into the new school year.

This is my newest film, Ginger Wars. This film is my longest and best film that i have ever created. It took a few weeks to shoot and edit. The actors were Lucien and Kyle. I even put myself in my own film at one point which was pretty funny. Ginger Wars is a comedy mix action film. The characters are Lucien playing as Willy and Kyle playing as Kevin. I play as Mr. Harvey. The story starts as Willy and Kevin run into each other and talk about the recent movie they saw, Infinity War. Then they walk to class where there teacher, Mr. Harvey assigns many tests. Kyle is failing the class and needs to get his grade up. But suddenly he becomes very hungry. Kyle realizes he has no money on him and decides to go to the vending machine to see what in store. He is very upset that he can not get a snack. As Kyle is leaving school, Willy drops his favorite 5 dollar bill that has been passed through generations in his family. Kyle realizes this can be a chance to get a snack so he decides to steal that 5 dollar bill. The next day in school, Willy approaches Kyle to see how his day is going. But Kyle is acting very guilty but Willy thinks he is hiding something from him and is very curious. As Kyle is about to use Willy's 5 dollar bill, he feels guilty and decides to give the money back to Willy. Willy is completely shocked that Kyle has done this but forgives him because he did not steal anything else. But the huge plot twist is now happening. Kyle walks the other way and drops a 10 dollar bill. Willy is very sneaky and steals it. After that Willy assaults Kyle and steals his wallet. I used many camera movements including a tilt, point of view, zoom, walking shot, etc. I had different types of music depending on the scene and the way i want the viewers to feel as they are watching this film. I feel like I ended the year making a great and big film. I am very proud of the Ginger Wars. I could improve a few things in this film but I'm glad the way it came out. During the scene of Kyle and Willy sitting in class, I cut and moved the talking of Mr. Harvey a little bit and added music to this to get a better understanding that the kids are very upset about getting upcoming tests. I'm very excited to shoot bigger and better films for the next 3 years.

I recreated the scene from the office, "Strike Scream Run". In my film, the cast were Griffin, Alex, Yashica, Kevin, and I. I watched this episode the other night and it gave me a big laugh so I decided this would be perfect to recreate. I had two camera movements, just still on a tripod. Griffin was a big help with setting up the camera on the tripod with me. I think we were very close to the scene. We all tried acting just like the real cast. I had a-lot of fun recreating a scene and this is something I would enjoy to film again. Especially a scene from the office again since it is my favorite show.

This is my shoe collection video for 2019 for film class. I had a ton of fun filming this, setting up the lights, etc. I used different shots including pan, tilt, closeups, etc. I even put my favorite shoes on a lazy susan, special thanks to my mom for getting that for the video and that made the shot look very cool! I would love to do another internet video again if we had the opportunity. This film took me a day to film and about a week to edit. What inspired me to do this type of video was the you-tuber, FaZe Adapt which he is apart of a gaming, vlogging, etc channel. He created a shoe collection video so that made me want to do one. I also always wanted to film my own shoe collection video and glad I finally got to do that. My video was more of different shots then his, he just spoke in front of the camera and held each shoe the whole time. But my shots were a little of everything.

Salt Review:
Salt Movie PosterImage result for salt poster

Salt is a mystery/action movie directed by Phillip Noyce and Bradley Rust Gray. The lead actress was Angelina Jolie playing the main character "Salt". In my opinion I think Salt was a plot twisting crazy action movie. She betrayed people and joined people.
My favorite part was when she escaped the CIA in Washington, after betraying them as she was a spy for Russia. She did so much parkour which I enjoyed watching. I think this must had take in a long time to shoot those scenes. She did everything to save her husband. Another big plot twist was when one the the CIA important employee also betrayed the U.S and almost killed the president. Then he tried shooting off a missile but Salt stopped it. At one point Salt almost killed the president but shot him with spider venom instead. Everyone thought she was trying to kill the president but Salt was trying to save him.
In my opinion, I would give this film a 3/5 because it was a little confusing with all the plot twists. It was like a James Bond movie. I loved the settings like on the highway, airport, and basically all around Washington, D.C. They could of added another main star with Salt that was like her special partner all along or side kick. I think the film was made was to be a fast exciting movie that would make you not want to get out of your seat. I think it was a pretty good movie!

This film is called "The Detective and Spy". It is about a new case that the chief has ordered to be done. Myself, Dillan, Lucien, and Kyle worked on this film. Kyle and I filmed it and Dillan and Lucien were the actors. Dylan is figuring out what to do with the case but Lucien wants to get involved. He is curious about the case and wants to get involved. We used different camera movements such as a tilt and a dolly. My favorite one was the dolly because it will make you think that Dillan is focusing and concentrating on the case. The tilt really shows that the cheif is strong and powerful when the camera goes from down to up.

In the film "A Dogs Way Home", The first part of the trailer is a tilt of the mountains. It goes from the ground up to the top of the mountains.

In the film "SpiderMan 2", In one of the opening scenes, The camera shows the train coming and then moves the camera as the train is going to the other side. This is a pan and in this clip it is very fast.

In "Rocky", This scene is a tracking because as Rocky is running around the street, the camera is in front and is keep moving back as he is running.

I made this basketball documentary on North Broward Prep student, Maximus Fuentes. It took me a few weeks to film and edit. I filmed one of his games but he sent me a clip he had of him in game which is shown in the beginning of the documentary. I interviewed his brother, Mason Fuentes and his teammate and my good friend, Justin Abson. It was fun to film my first ever documentary but it was hard work. I would love to do this again if I had the opportunity to. For the camera, I interviewed Maximus and Mason with the Iphone X and Justin and the game with a real professional camera.

Here are the questions I asked Maximus:

  1. How old did you start playing basketball?
  2. Who are your role models in the NBA or in general?
  3. Are you enjoying your time on the Eagles team?
  4. Why choose North Broward over other schools for basketball?
  5. What is your dream college?
  6. If you had the ability to pick any NBA team to play on, which one would it be?
  7. What were your expectations going into this season?
  8. How do you describe yourself as a player?
